Kate Baron

Kate Baron is an ambitious lawyer who works in Manhattan and lives in Brooklyn. In law school, Kate became pregnant and chose to keep the child. Kate’s life has been difficult in her attempts to raise a child and have a successful career, but she has managed to make it work. That is, until the day she gets a call informing her that her child has been caught cheating on an English paper and will be suspended from school. Kate rushes to the school to pick up her daughter only to arrive and learn her daughter is dead.

Kate is devastated by the death of her child and consumed with guilt that she did not know her child was depressed enough to want to commit suicide. Therefore, when she gets a text insisting that her daughter did not commit suicide, Kate begins to investigate her daughter...
