Part III The Black Abyss, Chapters 35-36, pgs. 189-204 Summary

Sandecker meets with Dr. Murray Silverstein at the Alexandria College of Oceanography. They are discussing the computer results for pinpointing the location of the Titanic. They talk about the missing information or the discrepancies in the data and the resulting magnitude of any miscalculation. The computer is trying to simulate the sinking of the ship. Silverstein shows Sandecker a model of the Titanic and how they determine the angle of descent. They calculate that the best place to begin is thirteen hundred yards southeast from where the Sappho I found the cornet.
