Part III The Black Abyss, Chapters 29-34, pgs. 171-188 Summary
The President has a meeting with CIA director Warren Nicholson and his chief aide for the Kremlin, Marshall Collins. They have learned of the Sicilian Project from their contacts in the KGB instead of from the U.S. government. They know that the Russians know the code name but they don't know how much information they have about the project itself. Nicholson's plan is to feed the Soviets information about the program. The President agrees to the proposal and says he will have a report written by Meta Section. He tells the men that anything to do with the Sicilian Project must go through him.
Sandecker, Pitt and Gunn are meeting and trying to pinpoint the location of where the cornet was found. There is a six-mile discrepancy between where the cornet was found and the last reported position of the Titanic. They are wondering where...
