Chapters 5-8 Summary

Chapter 5 begins from Spencer's perspective. She is studying with a boy she likes, Andrew, who finally makes a move, and the two begin to make out. However, Spencer's been jumpy lately, not just because of Ian, but also because she has begun to suspect that she is adopted. With Andrew's help, she has tracked down the woman she believes to be her birth mother, and the woman, Olivia, has written back to her. Trying to find more information, Spencer gets Andrew to help her download files on her father's computer, and then writes back to Olivia to set up a meeting in New York.

In Chapter 6, Aria drives her brother Mike to school, but does not go in herself. After the news of Ian's disappearance, news trucks have camped outside the school. Aimless, she goes to the train station, not knowing...
