Part 2: Chapters 19-20 Summary

Labyrinth of Lies. Catherine and Julian fly with the dance company to London. Julian never gives Catherine a moment of space, insisting on being at her side at all times. Catherine tells Julian she is not sure she could ever love him, causing him deep hurt. Back in Clairmont, Catherine and Julian go straight to Dr. Paul's house. Catherine wants to tell Dr. Paul the truth, but she cannot find the words to hurt him. Finally, Catherine walks with Dr. Paul in the garden and tells him about Amanda's visit. Catherine learns that Julia was alive, but she died shortly before their affair began.
