Izzy

Isabelle “Izzy” Poole is a single teenage mother when the novel begins, having conceived through an affair with her art teacher, and having been left alone when he committed suicide. Izzy is sweet, compassionate, and determined to have her baby. While trying to save and plan for life by working with, and relishing the moral encouragement of Mr. Tannehill, Izzy is recommended for, and accepted into the IFP.
