Summary

In Chapter 8, Izzy’s baby is a week overdue. Now a part of the project, Izzy - the youngest and only single parent - has been included on a Listserv with other parents, to whom she is now grateful to be able to talk to regarding pregnancy, birth, and parenting. Izzy especially comes to like25-year-old Carmen, a Memphis Acklen Super Store cashier. When Izzy goes into labor, her dad is passed out drunk, so she calls Mr. Tannehill to bring her to the hospital. Mr. Tannehill comes quickly. She texts Dr. Kwon that she is having the baby. When Izzy gives birth, she is thrilled to hold her son, feeling as if she will never do anything more important.
