Chapter Six Summary

Chapter Six, Now

It has been a full day and Lena and Julian are still trapped in the small room. Scarce rations of food are being slid to them from a small trap door near the floor. Julian and Lena begin talking. She tells him only things that sound like something a Cured might say. He confesses to her that he has nightmares, but that he also has dreams — dreams of exploring the world. Lena says very little to him, but when their food comes, she gives him her rations of bread even though he is accustomed to getting full meals every day.
