Summary

Chapter 25: Jess – Jess does her best to make herself look presentable despite having smashed her nose the night before, and thinks happily on having finally slept with Ed. They then drive to Ed’s parents’ house, in a quiet, friendly neighborhood. There, Ed learns from Mrs. Harris, the housekeeper, that his father has taken a turn for the worse and is in the hospital. Ed and Jess then drive to the hospital. There, Gemma smacks Ed across the face before he and Jess go in to see Ed’s father and mother, Bob and Anne. Bob is very happy to see Ed, and happy to see that Ed has brought along a girl, saying it is about time.
