Chapters 17 and 18 Summary

Chapter 17

Emma's Syrena instincts were triggered when she hit her head. She can't feel the hot water in the shower because of her thick Syrena skin. She has refused to answer Galen's text messages. She's angry that he called her his "student." She feels rejected. At school, Emma gives Galen the cold shoulder but he is persistent and follows her. He tells her that his "grandmother" who lives in Florida is dying. It catches her off guard and she feels sorry for him. He laughs and tells her they what they really will be doing is flying down to see Dr. Milligan that weekend.
