Chapter 11

This can't be happening is all Emma can think as she and Galen slice through the water. The deeper they go, the more her eyes adjust and her vision sharpens. Suddenly, everything appears plain as day. How is Galen doing this?! He's not even using his arms; they're wrapped around Emma. She looks down at his feet but she sees a fin and thinks that it's a shark. She is astonished that they can talk underwater and hear each other. This is the secret he tells her and points to their feet. She thinks the shark came back and is swallowing Galen. She kicks at what she thinks is the shark. Then she sees that it's Galen. She tries to get away from him. She thinks she's dreaming. Galen tells Emma that this is also her secret but she doesn't...
