Chapters 11 and 12 Summary

Leah spots Shar on the street. When Shar recognizes Leah, Shar drops the phone receiver of the payphone in Shar's hand. Leah walks up to Shar and instead of her own voice, Leah hears Michel's voice as she tells Shar she wants her money back and Leah Calls Shar a thief.

Leah also thinks about the number thirty-seven. She believes it is a lucky number. This includes thinking of an address, 37 Ridley Avenue. It's a boarded up house right now.

Leah meets her mother to go shopping. On their way to the stores, they run into an addict begging on the street. He's selling a train fare card. Pauline starts to negotiate the sale with him. The man turns out to be a guy Leah went to high school with, and even had a crush on when they were growing up...
