Wednesday, pgs. 370-407 Summary

Sully finds out that he has been caught working. He was videotaped loading concrete blocks and they figure that it was the man in the dark car that had been asking questions about him. There is the possibility that the state may sue to recover the benefits but Wirf does not think they will.

Miss Beryl awakens thinking she has the flu. She feels guilty about Sully and is not happy about Joyce. Mrs. Gruber told her the story about the driving lesson. She makes a cup of tea and sits down to watch the snow. She does not respond at first when Sully comes downstairs. He finds her covered with blood.
