Chapters 5-8. Sick Puppies, Reprieve for Eve, Zombie Slaves, Be Prepared Summary

In Sick Puppies Jamie goes to the garden at night with herbs and artifacts. She tries to guard against the vampires, but feels touching and poking in her body. Despite all her efforts she is unable to get any responses, even through her spirit contact Eve Levine, a witch that is now dead. She contacts her through the ring Eve received from Kristof Nast with whom she has a daughter Savannah. Eve is often difficult to contact, and she passes messages to Jamie through Kristof. Jamie invites Jeremy to spend a week with her in LA. He is going to see her despite his sick children.
