Lindsey Nash

Lindsey Nash is the main character and the main narrator in the novel. She is the mother of Sophie and ex-wife of Andrew. She shares the story of her experiences as an abused wife as well as her decision that she had to leave her husband for her daughter’s sake.

Even though Lindsey knew that she had to leave her husband for her safety and the safety of her daughter, Lindsey feels guilty because she drugged her husband with sleeping pills the night she and Sophie escaped. Andrew woke from the drugs and killed a woman when he crashed into her car while he was looking for Lindsey and Sophie. Lindsey feared she could be held responsible for what happened if anyone ever found out that she had given Andrew pills that night.
