Resmaa Menakem
Resmaa Menakem is the author of My Grandmother's Hands: Racialized Trauma and the Pathway to Mending Our Hearts and Bodies. He is highly trained in handling conflict and preventing violence. He has worked for African American Family Services in Minneapolis and as a consultant for Minneapolis Public Schools and the Minneapolis Police Department. At one point in his career, he was also a consultant for the U.S. Army. Menakem's training is extensive, for he has trained under Peter Levine, Dr. David Schnarch, and Bessel van der Kolk. He also maintains a private therapy practice.
