Summary

Chapter 21: On the day before his birthday, Philip went to the bank to take all of the family’s jewels from the bank. Afterward, Philip went to visit his godfather. Philip asked him to witness his signature on the document giving Rachel the estate. Nick Kendall had talked to Rainaldi about Rachel’s overdraft and he had said that her spending had also been a problem for her first husband. He went on to tell Philip that people were talking about Rachel staying at the estate for so long. He asked if Philip had thought about asking Rachel to marry him. He said he had not and that Rachel would not have him. As Nick Kendall signed the paper, he advised Philip that some women bring tragedy through no fault of their own.
