Chapters 11-14 Summary

Chapter 11. Fabrizio tells Mangus what he has overheard in the chapel. Mangus throws out a few theories, such as the possibility that Teresina is insane. A soldier comes to lead them to the princess's quarters. On the way, Signore Addetto asks to speak to Mangus, and Mangus instructs him to wait.

Chapter 12. Teresina seems like a different person as Mangus interviews her. Teresina claims the ghost asked her to go with him to the otherworld with non-verbal communication. Teresina then insists that the ghost is her brother, although Count Scarazoni claims that her brother is safe and sound in Rome. Finally, Teresina admits that she is to marry Count Scarazoni in two days because her father has consulted the stars and that is the best date in the immediate future.
