Analysis
"As Gregor Samsa awoke one morning from uneasy dreams, he found himself transformed in his bed into a gigantic insect." Thus begins one of the most enigmatic stories of the modern age. More surprisingly, the cause of the transformation is never given or indeed even speculated upon. Rather, it is simply occurs and must be dealt with. The way that Gregor and his family try to come to terms with this sudden change is developed in the story. The family utterly fails to comprehend the change, and Gregor's efforts to communicate with them become ever more hopeless.
Gregor lived in a dark universe, where all his most paranoid thoughts come true. His irrational fears about his boss's ill-will prove true, when the man arrives at his own door. His best intentions are taken as hostile. His family rejects him, and his most articulate and kind efforts and communication are not...
