Summary

In Chapter 40, Jeremy looks at Marnie as if she is the worst person in the world and then leaves. She finally catches Jeremy and they go outside to talk. As they talk Jeremy realizes that Marnie has been sleeping with Noah. He walks away and does not even turn around when Marnie yells after him that she is sorry.

In Chapter 41, after helping Marnie with the fallout after dinner, Patrick takes her to his apartment to put ice on her foot and a bandage on her head. She listens as Patrick gets a call from his sister and he tells her that he plans to drive to Wyoming in a U-Haul the second week in December.
