Book Two, Kate and David, 1906-1914: Chapters 12-15 Summary

Kate is working late at Kruger-Brent, Limited's offices when a group of cops come along to search for a wanted killer. Kate successfully keeps them from finding the wanted man, who turns out to be Banda, wanted for killing a guard during a prison break. Banda did not kill the man, but the police want to kill him because he has begun rallying protest against racial discrimination.
