Banda has rescued Jamie and brought him to Cape Town to heal in secrecy. Banda worked at Van der Merwe's store and was part of the group of men who beat Jamie. Banda saw in Jamie a man who might be strong enough to exact revenge on Van der Merwe, the man Banda has been waiting several years to find. Banda dislikes Van der Merwe as well.
