Summary

In Chapter 31, Mallory tells Frigg it was wrong for her to just drop that information on her out of nowhere. Samirah is shocked to see Frigg, noting that appearances by her are rare and that in all her time at Valhalla she had never met anyone who had met Frigg. Mallory chides Sam to stop fangirling, calling Frigg just another deadbeat parent, like her father who was drunk.

Frigg tells them that they will need the whetstone to conquer the thralls guarding the mead. Sam and Mallory express discomfort at the idea having to fight slaves to get to the mead. Frigg explains to the group how she foresaw her son Balder’s death, but was unable to prevent it. She admits that she can shape someone’s immediate destiny, but never their long-term destiny and that this makes being around her children...
