Summary

In Chapter 10, Ani returns to her narration of the fall out after Olivia’s party. She decided she had to get to Olivia and get back in her good graces. She found her alone at the lunch table. Olivia had a bruise near her mouth. Olivia gave Ani an eerie smile and said she was fine. Dean slammed his tray on the table and accused Ani of breaking their deal. He said he had been called into the headmaster’s office. He would only be allowed to play in the next soccer game if nothing else happened in the meantime. Ani insisted she had not gone to the headmaster willingly but had been called to the office. She suggested he and Andrew (Mr. Larson) had assumed something had happened. Dean did not believe Ani and told her to leave their table.
