Summary

In Chapter 23, Skies of Fire, Dru continues to spend time with Jaime. They watch a scary movie together, which is something Dru loves. Jaime obviously understands Dru's loneliness and says he will soon have to leave. Meanwhile, Julian says the church has been corrupted and he asks Emma to join her power to his to burn it down, using their combined energy and a rune. Emma sees his smile and knows that most people see that as harmless and trustworthy, but she knows how hard he can be. Emma is torn, part of her hoping they can burn the stones and part of her hoping they cannot. They succeed. Back at the cottage, they talk about their love. Julian says he made the decision to be Emma's parabatai when he was twelve, and that is now keeping him from being free to love her...
