Thomas Covenant

Thomas Covenant is a writer. He is the main character of the novel but at the beginning you have trouble feeling a connection with him because of all his hate and anger and the mean things that he does. He was diagnosed with leprosy and has lost some of his fingers on one hand. His wife took their son and left him so that they wouldn't get sick and don't have any contact with him. He gets transported to a magic land and is forced to go on a journey to save the land but along the way finds that he may need just as much saving as the land does.
