Summary

Chapter 20 is written from Strike's perspective. Strike meets Robin who tells him about the message for Chiswell. They agree that the caller could be referencing people who are being strangled. Then Robin brings in the tape from Winn's office. Winn has had a conversation with Jimmy. Aamir, under protest, is to retrieve some pictures. In addition Robin tells Strike that Chiswell's wife has said that she thinks that there were men in the garden. After Robin leaves, Strike calls Chiswell to tell him all of this. Chiswell says that he knows things about Aamir and dismisses his wife's claims. When the call ends, Strike's thoughts return to Jimmy, Billy, and wondering who the anonymous caller was talking about.
