Arrah

Arrah is the main protagonist and the narrator of the novel (excluding the short sections for the orishas or Efiya). She is the daughter of two powerful witchdoctors, but has no true magic of her own. Because of this, she is desperate to obtain it to please her mother, Arti, and fit in with the tribe. As the novel progresses, she chooses to trade years of her life to try and save the children, before using these rituals later to stop her mother and Efiya once she learns the truth.
