Point of View

This story is told from the first person point of view of a variety of different characters. Gwen, Sam, Lanny, and Connor all serve as narrators for the novel. These different points of view give the reader a close relationship with all of the characters. It allows each character to have the chance to tell his own story from his own point of view. Gwen tells her story from the point of view of a mother determined to save her children and do whatever it took to end her ex-husband’s killing spree. The reader also gets a first-hand look at Sam’s thoughts and emotions after he sees the video that appears to show Gwen helping Melvin carry his sister into their garage to torture her.
