Norton

Norton is the small town where Javier and Kezia live. Gwen takes Lanny and Connor to live there hoping that Melvin will not look there for them because it was that same town to which he had directed them originally.

House on Stillhouse Lake

This house on Stillhouse Lake represents safety Lanny and Connor. It was while living there that they felt safe for the first time since their father was revealed as a murderer. When Lanny contacts Dahlia she arranges to meet her at this house. Connor asks his father to meet him at this house. At the end of the novel, Gwen and her children, along with several members of the community work to fix up this house so that the Proctor family can live there again.
