Point of View

Just Listen by Sarah Dessen is a novel written in the first-person perspective of the main character, Annabel Greene. The story is well written and reliable, as is evident by the way Annabel's thoughts and emotions are clearly defined throughout the story. The development of this character is especially important to the story, allowing the reader to understand what circumstances in her life helped to create her emotional makeup and her ability and sometimes inability to deal with the various conflicts she faces.
