Chapters Seventeen and Eighteen Summary

Since Whitney's reading at Jump Java, Annabel is haunted by the things in her life that she has not yet dealt with - the things she has buried. Kirsten tells Whitney about her film, and the whole family sits down to watch it. It has a profound effect on all of them. Later, unable to sleep, Annabel goes down to sit with her father for a few minutes. She only sits a few minutes before going back upstairs and putting on headphones. Having listened to all of the other cd's, the only one remaining is the one labeled "Just Listen" that Owen had instructed her to listen to last.
