Chapter Twelve Summary

Annabel's mother returns looking rested and energetic. Mallory goes back to getting ready for the fall fair, attending the preliminary meetings required. Her mother uses her time and energy to solicit more work for Mallory who would rather not participate at all. She still hasn't worked up the courage to tell her though. Kirsten is getting ready to show her first short film at the same time as her sister gets ready to walk down the runway. Annabel watches the short film Kirsten sent, and is taken back by the reality of moment she captured. It surrounds the accident that occurred on Annabel's ninth birthday where Whitney had broken her arm. The short film is a look at that event through Kirsten's eyes and is thought provoking and starkly real. She watches it several times. Whitney sits at the table working...
