Section 15: Chapter 25

As Juniper and Finbar sit at Angharad's hearth with Gamal in between them, Juniper tells Finbar that she knows her mother had a son because she saw it in a dream, and when he points out that she will not be regulus, Juniper explains that she believes part of the reason that she is a doran is to protect the baby and the kingdom. Juniper can accept not ruling because "I'd rather have [Euny's] sort of power than all my father's possessions" (p. 190). She will use her power in a different way than ruling.
