Chapter 7 Summary

At the beginning of chapter 7, Charlie is at Jeffrey's house and they are engaging in their usual banter about random topics and friendly arguing about who is right. At home that night, Charlie's dad asks if he's going to the fireworks and when he says no, his dad tells him that he has been writing a book and that he wants Charlie to be the first to read it. But before he can read it, Jasper shows up and says that tonight's the night he's going to confront Jack Lionel.

Charlie is hesitant to go at first but eventually goes with him. Charlie's heart is racing when they reach Jack's house but Charlie is surprised when Jack welcomes him and Jasper in and is friendly to Jasper.
