Summary

After Phil was offered a job at NYU, Jane planned to follow him and enroll at the law school there. She wanted to return home to reveal her relationship with Phil to her parents, whose disapproval she was expecting due to Phil being Jewish. Jane used a ride board as a means of getting home but the person who picked her up turned out not to be the man who she had agreed to go with, a man named David Johnson. When Jane did not arrive home, her father drove up and down the I-96, before calling the police and reporting her missing. The next day, her body was found propped up on a grave in a cemetery 14 miles outside of Ann Arbor.
