Amity

The Amity compound is one of the main settings in the story. Tris, Tobias, and others arrive at Amity after being on the run. The Amity are a peace loving group and welcome the refugees to stay for one night. Tris describes Amity as being exactly the opposite of a Dauntless. It is light and peaceful whereas Dauntless is much darker.

The people of Amity dress in red and yellow to differentiate themselves from others. Tris becomes impatient when the group, a true democracy, takes forever to vote on whether than can stay.

The people at Amity do not have an established religion. They are represented by Johanna Reyes.
