Summary

Chapter 3 opens with a montage of sorts, of what the reader might experience passing through Amherst. One girl practicing hoops. Another running up and down stairs. They were all working hard on getting better for the upcoming season.

Then, the book takes a few pages with each of the other girls. It focuses on Rita Powell, one of the youngest girls on the team. It curates her love of basketball, and her admiration of the senior players on the team, Jamila and Jen. There was a rigorous basketball camp Rita wanted to attend.
