Chapter 8 Summary

The next morning Eve is very irritated with Roarke's underhanded trick of drugging her to sleep, despite the fact that she needed it desperately. She seeks him out at breakfast, ready to have it out with him only to be disarmed as usual by his charm and bowl of oatmeal he insists that she eat before having a crepe like Mavis, who is calmly sitting at the table eating breakfast. What distracts her is a Mavis who is calm, peaceful, and no longer afraid of the murder charge against her. Mavis believes in Eve as the very best the police force has to offer, in the lawyers hired as the best legal defense team money can buy, and in the love of Leonardo. In her opinion, all the media attention can only help.....
