Chapters 19-21 Summary

Chapter 19 begins with Lucy continuing to be concerned about the self-portrait she was assigned in art class. Knowing that she will fail the class if she doesn't produce something, she decides to use her lunch break to go to the art room. Ms. Daniels suggests that she use a painting that's important to her as inspiration and hands her a book of paintings to get her started. While looking through the book, Sam enters the classroom and they have a brief, but positive conversation. Just as Lucy finds an inspirational painting and gets an idea for a self-portrait, Madison and Jessica come into the classroom and start talking about prom dresses.
