Dirk Pitt

Major Dirk Pitt is a United States Air Force Officer and serves as the Special Projects Director for the U. S. National Underwater & Marine Agency. He is tall, well built, and has piercing green eyes. Pitt's chiseled features and his good looks cover up the fact he is a trained fighter, skilled in underwater diving and flying many types of aircraft and watercraft, and well educated. He is attractive to women and envied by men. Pitt's role as the Special Projects Director allows him considerable leeway in his activities, and his cockiness and independence makes him the perfect person to act as America's James Bond figure. Underneath the sarcasm and quick violent behavior, Pitt is a man of fierce loyalty to his country and his agency, and a man who respects and loves women.
