Chapter 8 Summary

Before Kirsti arrives at the restaurant, Sandecker reviews what they know about Kristjan's twin sister: no one really knew she existed until recently, and it was said she had been in New Guinea serving as a missionary until Kristjan died. Then she took over the reins of the company as if she had always done so. When Kirsti arrives at the restaurant, Pitt is struck by her beauty. Pitt and Kirsti exchange some serious flirting, then Kirsti sees her fiancé, Oskar Rondheim and asks him to join them. Pitt has an immediate dislike for Rondheim and how he is treating Kirsti. Rondheim does not like Pitt either. Pitt decides to change his demeanor with Oskar; Pitt pretends, to the astonishment of Sandecker and Tidi, that he is a homosexual.
