Summary

Chapter 8 is titled “The Sabrina Way.” Freya knows where Sabrina lives and she goes there. Sabrina's fiance, Alex, answers the door. He clearly knows who Freya is and invites her inside. Sabrina says Mrs. Kebede left when she could not reach Freya by phone and saw a charge to a walk-in clinic. Freya realizes her phone was damaged when she fell. Alex takes the phone to see if he can repair it. When they are alone, Freya tells Sabrina she does not want to talk about Mrs. Kebede. She wants to congratulate Sabrina on her engagement. Sabrina assumes Mrs. Kebede told Freya, but she says Mrs. Kebede never talks about Sabrina. Sabrina reveals the same. Sabrina asks if Freya has heard from Solomon and Freya realizes Sabrina is also hurt that their father cut ties. They talk about the day they parted ways...
