Survival Of A Species

The Lorien race is a race much older than Earth's human race is. They had long ago reached the ecological tipping point that the Earth now approaches, and had seen the changes that needed to be made to save their planet. Rather than ignore the dire condition of their home world, they had taken immediate steps to stop the destruction of their world. It will be many years before Lorien heals, but it does. They learn a different way of life, and are rewarded for their efforts.

The Mogadorian race faces much the same crisis some time later. They too use up their planet and its resources without much thought to the future, but when the signs come to warn them that their planet is in jeopardy, they neglect to take action like the Lorien people had.
