From the sounds of her voice and the dogs, John believes they are at the back of the house. He runs to the back of the house, hoping he can enter without being seen. Inside, half the stairs are gone, and John is forced to jump to the second floor. He checks rooms as he goes, almost falling through the floor in one area, and finally finds Sarah and the dogs huddled in the farthest corner of a room.
