Chapters 12 and 13 Summary

Henri and John attend the Saturday Halloween parade with Bernie Kosar in a Superman cape. John introduces Henri to Sam and they exchange alien conspiracy theories until Sam mentions the Mogadorians by name. He claims they are seeking world domination and are already on Earth, having wiped out one planet before. John and Henri are stunned and ask where he gets his information. Sam cites the publication "They Walk Among Us." Sarah waves at John, and Henri knows this is the girl John likes. She comes over and talks to them for a while, inviting them to join the haunted hayride later. Mark and his gang arrive and Mark immediately begins to taunt John. Sarah puts herself between them, but when they show no signs of letting up, she walks away. Mark retreats to his friends, and John goes after Sarah.
