The Second Hotel New Hampshire Summary

The family remains in Vienna for seven years. John and the others listen to one of the young radicals who lives upstairs as she reads aloud to them, apparently prompting a love of literature that results in John and Lilly deciding to major in literature at the university. Frank majors in economics and Franny in drama. The woman who reads to the children has only a code name - Miss Miscarriage. John feels an attraction for her but is unable to follow through on this attraction for many years. As time passes, John and the others notice some strange movements by the radicals but don't really understand the importance until many years have passed. For example, the group has a mechanic who is known by the code name "Wrench" who.....
