Chapter 4 Summary

Some time has passed and Hatch and Lindsay are in the office of their attorney where they are about to meet the girl who is their potential adopted daughter. Hatch notes that he feels as if he is an "accused infidel" during the Inquisition as he sits in the room with Father Duran, Father Jiminez and nuns Sister Immaculata and another whose name he can't remember. Hatch notes that they had been "right to mourn Jimmy," but that it's now right to move on with their lives - bringing them to the point of this adoption. Hatch and Lindsay, after Hatch's resuscitation, had decided they wanted to share their lives with a child. Lindsay had a difficult labor and was told she couldn't have another child so they are now looking to adopt. Toward that end, they've decided on a child with disabilities...
