Green Mountain High School

Hex Hall's Prologue is set at Green Mountain High School in an unnamed Vermont town. This single scene takes place at the school prom and establishes Sophie's character as a novice witch.

Hecate Hall

With the exception of the Prologue, the entirety of the book takes place at Hecate Hall, nicknamed Hex Hall. It is a sort of reform school for Prodigium -- young witches, warlocks, fae, and shapeshifters who have caused problems by using their powers among humans. The school is located on a remote island off the coast of Georgia and appears shabby and dull until the main character, Sophie, realizes that the school's appearance changes with the perception of the Prodigium who is looking at it.

Various scenes throughout the novel take place in Sophie's room, common rooms such as the lounge and cafeteria, classrooms, the office of the headmistrss, the grounds...
