Summary

In this chapter, Mack lies to Rena about attending a livestock sale. Instead, she drives to Stirling College and follows Lorne Trexler. On a backroad beyond campus, he swerves his red Prius to avoid a deer unsuccessfully. The car spins out, the wounded animal makes it to the edge of the road, and the car hit the guardrail forcefully. Mack admonishes his stupidity in swerving, but she gets out to help him move his car. They push the smashed Prius and call 911, and then Mack leaves for home, where Rena is in bed waiting for her.

That night, Gia and Darren go to the Star-Light Drive-In and smoke weed during the horror movie, just like the used to do when they were teenagers. When Gia leaves to go the bathroom, Darren fumbles around the car stoned, opening her glovebox when a phone rings...
